We took our inspiration from the Caribbean and the Greek Islands. Two story construction with high ceilings and core-filled concrete walls keeps the villa cool in summer and warm when the sun decides to hide itself. The external render consists of literally millions of hand formed river stones. The appearance is unmistakable and has Papaya Villa known as an ICONIC structure in Vanuatu.

Entry to Papaya Villa is through the old copra plantation. We like to walk through the plantation each day and collect coconuts. Beautiful crushed coral roads lead through the plantation to the beach where you will find Papaya Villa.

Inside and outside living areas have been carefully considered for this beautiful location. The ‘Deck’ overlooks the Pacific Ocean and takes in the ocean breezes. Of an evening you can sit outside and watch the trillion stars above!  The upstairs living areas leads off to the main bedroom and has a great flat screen and video library if you want to simply switch off and catch a movie.

The Villa is located right on the beach on Eton Reef. A few steps from the villa and you are on your own PRIVATE BEACH. Collect shells, snorkel and cool off or just watch the waves roll in over the reef. Watch the sun go down at the ‘Table of Knowledge’  … champagne, pina colada or G&T … the choice is yours.

A visit to the markets in Port Vila is a must. The flowers are amazing and the fruit & vegetables are brought in daily. The pineapples are to die for.  You can find all sorts of treasures and handicrafts made by the local artisans. Make a day of it and take in some lunch along any of the waterfront cafes and restaurants. The markets are open every day except for Sunday.
